KT and I just celebrated 10 years of marriage. I'm amazed at how this decade has deepened our love in beautiful, weird and difficult. What was meant to be a time of reflection ended up somewhat frenzied — various situations out of our hands made quiet moments hard to come by. Still, we managed to get out of the city and into a West Virginia cabin to cook, bathe in hot spring waters, take in the surprisingly fun Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem at an adorable one-screen theater and just… be. But my favorite moment, aside from spending time with my love, was floating in a tube on the Cacapon River. Chooglin, if you will. Rivers and lakes are my healing spaces, though sometimes I forget just how restorative their cool waters can be… but KT knows. Get you a partner who knows what you need to rest, then spend the rest of your life with them. —Lars Gotrich
